The maintenance of brake calipers is related to brake pads:
1. Brake pads are consumable parts with a service life. Not only are they consumable parts, but if they are worn out, they need to be replaced in advance;
2. If it is really a problem with the brake pads, it can generally be clearly felt that the brake pads are worn to the limit. In addition to the serious weakening of the braking force, you can also hear the sharp friction sound of "iron rubbing against iron" when braking;
3. If the brake pads are worn to the limit, they should be replaced immediately without hesitation, otherwise it is easy to cause abnormal wear of the brake disc, irreversible scratches, and cause the brake disc to be scrapped.
Brake calipers are maintenance-free. Usually check the brake pads (the replacement cycle is 60,000 kilometers, and the thickness cannot be less than 2 mm) and brake discs. The replacement cycle of the brake disc is after 100,000 kilometers. Specifically, it is generally replaced twice for the brake pads and once for the brake disc.
After the brake pads reach their limit, some other components will produce unique sounds by rubbing against the calipers. Therefore, when we hear different sounds from the wheels, we must check the brake pads and replace them in time.
